p1070072Why “Guarding the Faith”
Actually, I had a hard time deciding between “pressing towards the mark” and “keeping the faith”. I then remembered Rev Ong asking me once about what my vision is; which characteristic of God motivates me in my service for Him, and I said, “God’s faithfulness”.

Keeping the faith (2 Timothy 4:7) means trusting God, taking Him at His word…and for me to do that, I must know and believe that God is faithful to keep His word. So then, I decided that “keeping the faith” was most meaningful to me at present. However, when I tried creating the blog, I realised it was taken already =/ A while later…as I thought about it and read thru other passages, I realised that…1 Timothy 6:20 has an instruction to “guard the faith”! :)

The Duty of Guarding the Faith
“O Timothy, guard the deposit entrusted to you. Avoid the irreverent babble and contradictions of what is falsely called “knowledge”, for by professing it some have swerved from the faith. Grace be with you” 1 Timothy 6:20-21 :)

How to Guard the Faith

  1. Believe God’s Word (1 John 2:14)
  2. Honour God’s Word (Job 23:12)
  3. Love God’s Word (Psalm 119:97)
  4. Obey God’s Word (John 8:31)
  5. Proclaim God’s Word (2 Timothy 4:2)
  6. Defend God’s Word (Jude 3)
  7. Study God’s Word (2 Timothy 2:15)

I pray that this blog would not only be glorifying to God, but also edifying to all who read it :]

Standing on His promises,
Gwyneth :)
