It is with a heavy heart that i write this tonight. Today, i’ve lost a lady i look up to, a fellow prayer warrior, co-worker, friend and sis-in-Christ…but i know that’s only temporarily.
Auntie Christine’s been a blessing in my life as i watched her battle cancer for more than 10 years. It’s been my privilege to have served alongside her in the same Sunday School class, gone on mission trips together, had heart-to-heart talks with her, prayed, laughed and cried together. Not many people after knowing they are terminally unwell, have the opportunity to do so much with people they love and who love them. God has been very very good.
While the loss saddens me, i hold on to the hope that in the sweet by and by, we will meet on that beautiful shore. When we do meet, Auntie Christine will look fresher than ever, with a new body rid of sickness and pain that only exists in this temporal world.
Rest well, Auntie Christine. This is your well-deserved rest. You have fought the good fight, finished your course and definitely kept the faith. i look forward to meeting you at the end of my race as we stand before Christ on that Day.
